Googley Mashups

May 31st, 2007 by Mark Woodman

art1.gifGoogle enters the mashup market with the Google Mashup Editor.  It is invite only at this point, so needless to say I’d love to have one if any TechBrew readers could swing it for me.

Brady Forrest writes,

It is very similar to Yahoo! Pipes and Popfly in intent, but not in focus or implementation. Of the three web-based mashup creators this one is the least graphical (being almost all text) and is the most developer focused.

The GME currently supports Firefox 1.5+ and IE 6+, according to the help docs, and leverages JavaScript, CSS, HTML, declarative XML, and (of course) the GData API.  The mashup code itself is currently hosted (only) by Google.

Invites, anyone?
